The Health Fair’s mission is to provide health screenings and health education to Latino families in metro Atlanta and to connect them to health care clinics/hospitals. The main health fair activity was for participants find primary care organizations and not to use health fairs as their primary health care.
The 2014 Health Fair event had a record attendance of more than 2,600 people. The total cost of services provided represented over $200,000, but were provided at no cost to the community thanks to our Sponsors.
After the Health Fair, Portal de Salud works to identify medical and triage medical needs by providing follow up, referrals, and patient navigation throughout the rest of the year. It has proven to be a great way to engage our community by promoting their knowledge and behavior to live healthier lives.
Sponsors and Partners includes health organizations such as Emory University, Mercy Care of Atlanta (Saint Joseph Hospital), The American Cancer Society, Walgreens, Northside Hospital, Piedmont Hospital, CIMA, CETPA, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services CMS, SEDDCO and other public and private organizations.
